Medaling Monkey 5K

Medaling Monkey 2017 Event

Registration is open for one of the most fun 5K Walk/Runs of the year.   The Race date has been changed to November 5th at Millennium Park, to raise money for the Special Olympics of Michigan - Area 11.
Last year was a tremendous success!  We were able to raise $5817 and hope to increase that amount this year.  Help us build excitement, involvement,  and growth for this 2017  event!

Medaling Monkey 2016

The Medaling Monkey 5k was run on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Riverside Park.  Thanks to all of our runners, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the event a great success! We were able to raise $5817 to benefit Special Olympics!

Midwest United FC announced the desire to grow our existing Outreach Program, at the Club Celebration dinner, in February of 2016!  One goal of our Outreach Program is to engage our resources (families, athletes, and staff) to create opportunities for personal growth and service WITHIN our "club community" as well as OUTSIDE in our "greater West Michigan community".

We are thrilled that Midwest United FC has partnered with Special Olympics of Michigan (Area 11) to present the 4th Annual Medaling Monkey 5K Walk/Run which benefits Special Olympics!  The Medaling Monkey 5K Walk/Run strives to promote fun, fitness, service and inclusion for all ages and abilities.

Special Olympics of Michigan (Area 11) has done an amazing job of growing this race to help raise funds and awareness. We want to put the power of the Midwest United FC families, athletes, staff, and sponsors behind the Special Olympics mission.

This project is an investment, not one that will reap financial reward for Midwest United, but one that will allow us to engage our families, athletes, and staff beyond the soccer field through race participation, volunteering, or raising funds for Special Olympics.

We have assembled a brilliant group of volunteers and corporate sponsors that will help us put on a FANTASTIC race.

Thanks to Kristen Mahoney, Shelly Glover, and Missy Currie for accepting leadership volunteer roles for the race.  We also want to take a moment to thank our current sponsors that are finding ways to help us offset the costs associated with the event.  Please email if you would like to volunteer or be a corporate sponsor of the event.

Thank you to our event Sponsors!
