Midwest is very proud of Steve Herdsman. This is a well-deserved award as he's been an integral part of the coaching staff, and leads the charge in many programs the club has to stay involved in the community. He's been a positive role model for players, coaches, and the kids he's involved with in the outreach program. Congratulations Steve!
We know that whether a coach, parent or mentor to a youth athlete, your involvement in a players’ development makes a tremendous impact. That’s why earlier this fall, Dove Men+Care partnered with PCA to celebrate care as a man's real strength with the Caring Coach of the Year Award – an award given to youth and high school sports coaches across the U.S. who embody the drive to win and teach life lessons through sports by showing care. Now that the nominations are in, we’re excited to announce our two winners of the 2017 Caring Coach of the Year Award!
Congratulations Steve Herdsman and Tony Hall, and thank you both for all that you do and being there to care both on and off the field!
It is a great honor to represent Positive Coaching Alliance with the Dove Men+Care Coaching Award. I appreciate PCA’s commitment to raising awareness of how impactful a coach can be in a child’s life. No different than my coaches have motivated me on a path with statements that challenge and inspire me, I as well have one I impart on my athletes. I remind them that, "The world is a BIG place, be BIG in it”. Regardless of their skill level or life situation, it is important to remember that we all have the potential and ability to be BIG in that which we invest.
