Dear Midwest Families,
Several years ago, Midwest United FC answered its need to find a new home. The Christian Athletic Complex (CAC) embraced our vision and provided permission for us to improve its property for our players. Many companies partnered with Midwest United FC to build our two current state-of-the-art turf fields, including West Michigan Community Bank (WMCB) who provided the funding needed.
The CAC property was recently listed for sale. Our 30-year lease remained secure; however, we realized that the potential to own the property provided us with an opportunity to make improvements and repairs we simply couldn’t undertake as a tenant.
We are excited to announce that as of Thursday, May 7, 2020, Midwest United FC proudly owns 11 acres of the CAC property which includes the fields and parking lot we currently use and space for the construction of a third field. Through the generosity of an anonymous donor, the City of Kentwood will own the remaining 109 acres.
We now are free to further improve our home, and we know our Midwest United families will share in our excitement.
To quote our new partner and neighbor, Kentwood Mayor Kepley, “We are humbled by the opportunity this donation presents for us, underscoring that even in these trying times, good things are still happening.”
We want to express our gratitude to the anonymous donor, City of Kentwood, West Michigan Community Bank, and other ongoing partners, including EV Construction, Varnum, Katerburg, Superior Asphalt, and WindeMuller.
